Gas Supply Pte Ltd (GSPL) selected South Sumatra, Indonesia for the supply of natural gas due to its gas quality, established reserves, as well as the high potential for additional gas development.
The gas supply from Indonesia is piped through a 477km undersea pipeline operated by Transgasindo, a unit of Indonesia's state-owned gas transmission company Perusahaan Gas Negara, from South Sumatra to Singapore, passing through Batam.
Under the Pertamina -GSPL Gas Sales Agreenment, the two main gas fields supplying natural gas into Singapore are the Corridor and Jabung Blocks.
Corridor Block is one of the largest gas producing blocks in Indonesia. The block is operated by MedcoEnergi, together with partners Repsol and Pertamina. Gas from the fields is processed in the Grissik and Suban processing plants, and ready for supply to Singapore, Batam Duri oil fields and West Java.
Jabung Block in Jambi, South Sumatra comprises of LPG, condensate and natural gas resources. The block is operated by PetroChina with non-operating partners Petronas and Pertamina.
